Sculptural Books

With Anne Corrsin. Thursday and Friday, June 23 and 24, 9:30am-3:30pm. Members: $280, Non-Members: $300.

In this two day workshop, students will be introduced to a simple book structure: the Concertina Binding.

From there, we will aim to adapt the book form with materials provided as well as materials and items that students bring including photographs, paper, thin board, rubber, plastic, etc. Explore the book form as pure object and as a holder of content. Basic materials like board, adhesive, thread and paper will be provided.

ABOUT THE TEACHING ARTIST

Anne Corrsin is a Visual Artist who graduated from the School of the Fine Arts/Tufts program. She has exhibited her work in a variety of venues including the Krakow/Witkin Gallery in Boston, Ma., Real Art Ways in Hartford, Ct. and the BF Annex Gallery in Boston. Anne currently shows her work at AMP Gallery in Provincetown, Ma. Her sculpture, prints and drawings are held in numerous private collections. She has been awarded fellowships from the Massachusetts Cultural Council, the Boston Athenaeum and the Vermont Studio Center. Anne is also an experienced bookbinder and has 20+ years working in the field of Book Conservation.
