[Outdoors] Plein Air Drawing

With Jakki Kouffman. Monday-Friday, July 18-22, 9am-12pm. Members: $380, Non-Members: $400.

Plein Air Drawing is a five-morning workshop that will take you to different scenic locations on the Outer Cape to draw landscapes from life.

Emphasis will be on techniques of mark making, value manipulation, the simplification of light/shadow, and different approaches to composition. This workshop will move beyond “drawing what you see.” Instead, we will focus on invoking, and even reinventing, outdoor space. The many and varied techniques of historic and contemporary landscape artists will be discussed. Materials will include white drawing paper, assorted pencils and an eraser. All skill levels are welcome to participate.
