[Outdoors] Color Boot Camp

With John Clayton. Monday-Friday, July 25-29, 9am-12pm. Members: $380, Non-Members: $400.

This workshop will focus on the elements of outdoor painting and natural light.

Emphasis will be in learning to see color and light creating color relationship in the landscape. Viewing a short demonstration each day, students will learn techniques such as how to approach their painting of using a painting knife and incorporating values and design into each painting. We will go out each day and paint a different scene; organizing the landscape in the simplest way is essential to creating successful paintings.

ABOUT THE TEACHING ARTIST

John Clayton’s formal art training was with the Art Students League and the National Academy in New York. During the summers he was greatly influenced and studied painting at the Cape Cod School of Art in Provincetown. Along with numerous juried shows John is currently exhibiting his art at the Arthur Egeli Gallery. Clayton Shows at the Gingerbread Square Gallery in Key West. Clayton has been teaching painting for twenty years, PAAM, The Creative Art Center of  Chatham. The Falmouth Art Guild and Castel Hill, for the past 5 years John has hosted Art in the Barn with PAAM at the Hawthorne Barn.
