[ONLINE] Be You, Be Your Art with Bernd Haussmann

October 18 @ 4:00 pm 6:00 pm

< Back to Workshops

Wednesdays, October 18-November 29, 4-6pm

6 sessions | $340 for members $360 for non-members

This is not about your work.

It is about you first, your wellbeing, your connection with your true self and the world you are part of; about deepening and sharpening that connection through the practice of ARTing.

ART is a means, tool, practice for deeper understanding, more kindness, trust, truth, inner peace. ART is not a product. We talk; listen; contemplate; meditate; do the work.

Here we are equal participants; together in an interactive, supportive, nurturing, open structure: you are co-creator; I am teacher, guide, colleague, friend. We are in this together, sharing our struggles and findings freely, without judging, comparing, wanting, clinging; with a curious, kind, open mind. Participants will be engaged in experimental creative exercises, mindfulness techniques, independent projects, interactive dialog, and kind group critique.

That is the intention and outline for our course together; to realize what holds us back, is in our work’s way, find new openings and do more meaningful work, helpful to yourself and others.

All genres, media, materials, and levels of experience are welcome.

Bernd Haussmann divides his time between Marblehead and Maine where he and his wife Anne also work on a 450-acre nature project. Haussmann has had a presence on the Cape, including exhibitions and workshops, since the late 1990s. His work is exhibited and visible in numerous private, corporate, and museum collections around the world, including PAAM.

Having taught at several American universities, colleges and non-profit organizations, his teachings now revolve around mindfulness in and through art, in workshops and private tutoring, in the US and overseas. Haussmann is a prolific artist in his own right and encourages environmental, inclusionary, interactive projects and collaborations. One such approach was his non-verbal “Dialogues” with scientists, as artist-in-residence at the Broad Institute of Harvard and MIT. His most recent interactive event “Warum ist das Licht” took place in Germany. Haussmann creates at his studio in Maine and continues to give workshops, in person and remotely.
