Pastel Landscape Painting with Jakki Kouffman

July 10 @ 9:00 am 12:00 pm

< Back to Workshops

Monday-Wednesday, July 10-12, 9am-12pm

3 sessions | $230 for members $250 for non-members

In this three-day workshop we will explore ways to recreate indoors the vibrancy that we experience when working outdoors (i.e., en plein air).

Using dry pigment pastel as the primary medium, this workshop will offer answers to the following questions: How do we use the three contrasts: value (light-dark), chroma (choice of hue) and intensity (saturation of chroma) to amplify the details of the chosen scene? How, then, does this knowledge improve our ability to improvise from Nature, and, therefore, to personalize the view? All skill levels and painting approaches are welcome.
