Use Your Artwork to Design Textile Patterns with Tina Stevens

June 29 @ 10:00 am 4:00 pm

< Back to Workshops

Thursday and Friday, June 29 and 30, 10am-4pm

2 sessions | $340 for members $360 for non-members

All types of artwork can be used for textile design (both hand-made and digital) and made into repeating patterns.

Students can use their favorite drawing, painting, or collage methods to explore concepts and develop a range of pattern ideas. Bring doodles, sketches, fabrics, photos, their artwork… anything that inspires you. There will also be prompts and materials to get ideas flowing. Together we will explore the creative elements of pattern, scale, repeat, and color as they apply to textiles. This hands-on workshop is open to all, no experience necessary.

Digital textile printing services now offer short run fabric orders (as small as one yard). If desired, Tina will scan one chosen design for each student and prepare files for digital printing (the fabric order is not included in the price of the workshop). It is exciting to receive your artwork printed on fabric and perhaps make an item for your home or to wear!
