See what’s on view here. \n\n\n\nMegan Hinton is a painter known for reconfiguring genres of landscape\, figurative\, and object painting. Her art utilizes painting’s historic content and technique with found and discarded material to investigate line\, color\, shape\, surface\, and scale. This fusion of content and material further defines Hinton as a collagist and sculptor with interdisciplinary practices in installation\, photography\, and printmaking. In 2024 PAAM honored Hinton with the prestigious annual Award for Artistic Excellence. Megan holds an MFA in Interdisciplinary arts from Mills College where she won the Hung Lui Painting Prize. She has received residency fellowships from Twenty Summers in Provincetown and The Frans Masereel Centrum in Belgium. She is a recipient of the Alice C. Cole ‘42 Merit Grant from Wellesley College. Megan is also an art educator\, curator\, and writer. The scherzo opens with rhythmic figures that evoke Native American drum patterns\, which Dvořák encountered in Spillville\, while its middle section brings a “broad\, leisurely melody heard first in the viola…one of Dvořák’s most enchanting themes”—a melody some hear as rooted in the memory of American prairie. The quintet asks: what does it mean to be displaced\, to listen\, to transform what you hear into something that belongs to you? \n\n\n\nRalph Vaughan Williams posed a related question across the Atlantic. His Phantasy Quintet\, composed in 1912\, introduces “an arching pentatonic solo” in the viola—a melody drawn from English folk song\, and the four movements are “played attacca\,” sharing this thematic idea throughout. The dedication is fitting: like Gould\, Sitkovetsky is less interested in replication than in reimagining. Distributing Bach’s voices across violin\, viola\, and cello transforms the music in subtle but profound ways. What was crystalline and percussive on the harpsichord becomes warm\, breathing\, sustained. These pieces favor rich\, mellow instrumental hues and autumnal maturity of expression\, with melancholy opening themes that resolve into quiet nobility—a farewell to a musical language Bruch had perfected across a lifetime. Aram Khachaturian’s Trio\, composed in 1932 while still a student at the Moscow Conservatory\, answers with a younger voice steeped in a different inheritance: a blend of classical form with exotic folk elements that speaks of Eastern Eurasian traditions. Where Bruch distills\, Khachaturian ornaments—his rhapsodic first movement unfolds through gypsy-like improvisations\, and his finale spirals through variations on Uzbek folk melody. \n\n\n\nNearly sixty years on\, Nicola LeFanu’s Lullaby for clarinet and piano and Nocturne for cello and piano (1988) return to intimacy and restraint. However\, it was not until June 17\, 2021\, after decades long efforts led by Lee\, that President Joe Biden signed the Juneteenth National Independence Day Act bill that finally established June 19th as a federal holiday. This temporary art piece celebrates a once underrepresented but crucial moment in American history.  \n\n\n\nThe Future Art(ifacts) Series:\n\n\n\nAn artifact is “an object made or modified by a human being\, typically one of cultural or historical interest”. Artifacts mark important cultural and artistic expressions throughout human history\, tracing our societal values as they have changed through time. They are often found buried deep underground\, dusted off\, and encased in glass or hung on the wall of a museum\, separated by time and space by the people who made them\, leaving viewers to reckon with their meaning. The Future Art(ifacts) Series\, aims to connect the public with artists\, creators\, and thinkers making the same kind of significant contributions to culture in real time through a series of free workshops\, events\, and temporary installations held at the Provincetown Art Association and Museum during Free Friday events. \n\n\n\nJackie Reeves:\n\n\n\nJackie Reeves is a Cape Cod based multidisciplinary artist working across drawing\, installation\, animation\, and mixed media. She holds an MFA from Massart and approaches the figure as a site of experimentation~ layered\, fragmented\, erased\, and rebuilt. Her process embraces risk\, improvisation\, and the visible history of mark-making\, often incorporating collage\, unconventional materials\, and gestural abstraction. Reeves was honored as 2026 Artist of the Year by the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod and is the creator of award-winning animated films that merge art\, poetry\, and music. Photography by Rich Sanders.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTom Burr (b. 1963 in New Haven\, Connecticut) is an artist who lives and works in New York and Connecticut.\n\n\n\nHe attended the School of Visual Arts and the Whitney Independent Study Program in New York. Burr’s work revisits the formal vocabulary of minimalism and post-minimalism\, and explores themes of site specificity\, queer subjectivities\, and space. He has shown extensively throughout Europe and the Americas. Burr is a 2025 Guggenheim Fellow. \n\n\n\nBurr’s work has been collected by major museums internationally\, including the Whitney Museum of American Art\, New York\, NY; Migros Museum\, Zurich\, Switzerland; MOCA\, Los Angeles\, CA; MuMOK\, Vienna\, Austria; New York Public Library\, New York\, NY; Sammlung Grasslin\, Germany; Sammlung Verbund\, Vienna\, Austria; Ludwig Museum\, Koln\, Germany; Hammer Museum\, Los Angeles\, CA; FRAC\, Champagne Ardenne\, France; FRAC\, Nord-Pas de Calais\, France; Baltimore Museum of Art\, Baltimore\, MD; and Yale University Art Gallery. \n\n\n\nTorrington Project\, a major monograph dedicated to the artist’s 2021-24 landmark installation-studio-exhibition space of the same name\, was published by Primary Information in August 2025. \n\n\n\nIncluded with $15 Museum admission\, free for PAAM members. Its cantilevered porch\, where friends and family would spend much of their time\, once had a clear view across three connected kettle ponds\, but saplings that dotted the hillside today tower above the house\, blockingsightlines. \n\n\n\nThe four-bedroom structure…is considered the most significant Modernist house on the Cape and was one of the first completed examples of Breuer’s “Long House” design\, a simple construction that could be assembled using local materials. His award-winning book\, Cape Cod Modern ( with co-author Christine Cipriani) is currently in its fifth printing.
