Description

Don McLaughlin began his lifelong affiliation with black and white photography in 1936 when he received a Kodak Brownie camera and some rolls of film. Through the years he studied how to make ever-better photographs and went from a simple box camera to several different single lens reflex cameras that could handle any photographic challenge.

With a rare sense of composition, he captured the light in the faces of people, the angles of the buildings, and the expanse of the landscape, often recording names, exposures, and the weather.

A foreword to the book notes “Don’s photographic specialty, rather than a certain subject matter or technical effects, is his straightforward appreciation for and attention to the every day.”
