Rods and Monsters:
The Puppet Designs of Ed Christie
Curated by Breon Dunigan
In the Duffy Gallery through January 25
Ed Christie has been associated with The Jim Henson Company for 27 years. He is currently a creative and managerial consultant at Sesame Workshop, primarily designing characters for Sesame Street. He is the recipient of eight Emmy Awards for his work on Sesame Street and received the Oasis of Peace Award for his work on the Israel/Palestine production of Sesame Street.
"To design puppets," Christie says, "you have to believe that the sculptured forms will eventually come to life." There are many different kinds puppets- hand puppets, finger puppets, marionettes, rod puppets, ventriloquist dummies, even full-body walkaround characters-and over the years, Christie has worked on most of them.

Cross Contemporary: Student and Educator Curating Program
Nauset Regional High School
In November, students from Ginny Ogden's Advanced Portfolio Class at Nauset Regional High School were introduced to the wealth of contemporary Provincetown art during a lecture presented by teaching artist Tracey Anderson. These students were then treated to a hands-on experience of curating and art-making sessions at PAAM, focusing on contemporary artists represented in PAAM's permanent collection. Each student responded to this work through creative writing and in the media of their choice.
The NRHS exhibition opens with a reception in the Moffett Gallery December 5, 6-8pm and runs through January 11.
