Awesomeness on the Edge: Art Reach 2025-26

Art Reach is PAAM’s award-winning visual art education program for youth.

Designed to support the growth and development of students over time, from beginner to advanced learner, peer mentor to teaching artist, Art Reach runs each year from October through March and is offered free-of-charge, including transportation, materials, and food assistance.

The Art Reach 2025-26 programmatic year was made up of over fifty young artists ages 9 through 18 hailing from every town on the Outer Cape as well as Orleans, Harwich, Brewster, Chatham, Dennis and Yarmouth. Art Reach is made up of four distinct tiers including Art on the Edge (ages 9-11), Art Reach 101 (ages 12-14), Art Reach Studio (ages 15+), as well as PAAM’s youth employment program the Reaching Forward Mentorship for young people ages 15-22.

From Curator of Community Education, Grace Emmet:

Over the last six months, our program has strived to create a space for young people to feel the power of their artistry, develop an appetite for creative risk taking, and step into their role as the next generation of visionary leaders. Part of running the program is having the privilege and vantage point to see all the tedious hours of invisible work our students and staff put into making this exhibition a reality. I would like to extend overflowing gratitude to the Art Reach students, our mentors, and their teaching artists, who make this program possible. PAAM is also thankful to our extended community members and partners from this year including visiting artist Pamela Shanley-Daube, Truro Clay Works, Provincetown IB Schools, Mercedes Cab, and Mass Cultural Council.
