Free Member Workshop: Portrait Drawing with Valerie Isaacs

In this workshop, art lovers can learn about portraiture and experiment with drawing from life.

Contour drawing, an easy and fundamental drawing skill, will be used to explore the skull and then draw from a live model. We will have the pleasure of seeing portraits from the PAAM collection by women who have drawn and painted here over the years. All levels, completely inexperienced to advanced, are welcome. Materials provided, or you are welcome to bring your own.

ABOUT THE TEACHING ARTIST

Valerie Isaacs holds a BA in Architecture from Penn State. She has worked as an artist since 1989; after living in Spain and in Charleston SC, she moved to Massachusetts in 1999. Isaacs trained in drawing and etching in Seville, and in painting at the Fleisher Art Memorial (Philadelphia, PA) and with Douglas Balentine (Charleston, SC).
