(ONLINE) Creating a Daily Art Practice with Sian Robertson

March 13 @ 4:30 pm 7:00 pm

Thursdays March 13, 20, 27, 4:30-7PM
3 sessions | $165 for members, $185 for non-members

In this online workshop participants will consider their own goals in creating a daily art practice – perhaps to try something new, or deepen an existing skill; maybe to push their current work to a new level, or to break out of a rut.

We’ll look at the work other artists have created as part of a daily practice. And we will discuss setting strategies for success, and how to find the right balance between something achievable but at the same time challenging, as well as creating rules around the project to encourage focus. Between each online session participants can work on their daily pieces which may be shared within the group, and during subsequent sessions we will look at progress and achievement, as well as hurdles and how to overcome them.

ABOUT THE TEACHING ARTIST

Sian Robertson is a self-taught artist who grew up in Wales, in the UK, and has lived on the Outer Cape for over 20 years. She primarily works with used maps and atlases – cutting, folding, tearing, pasting, and more, to create both 2D and 3D work. Robertson likes to say that a beautiful map makes her heart race and her hand reach for her X-acto knife. Since 2015 she has had solo shows almost annually in galleries in Provincetown, as well as being part of many juried and group shows in galleries and arts institutions in Provincetown, across Cape Cod, and in Boston. Robertson also works with other artists to help them create and maintain their own websites.
