Bach's Goldberg Variations hold a peculiar place in the repertoire: endlessly analyzed, yet somehow endlessly mysterious.

Written in 1741 for two-manual harpsichord, the work unfolds as an Aria followed by thirty variations — canons, dances, character pieces, a boisterous quodlibet — before the Aria returns at the end, the same notes now carrying the weight of everything that has come between.

Antonín Dvořák's String Quintet in E-flat major, Op. 97, was composed during the summer of 1893 in Spillville, Iowa, a moment of reunion and longing crystallized into chamber music.

Blair Resika is a photographer, graphic designer, and singer of remarkable talent. Her photographs reflect the sensibilities of a woman with a strong feel for the formal qualities of picture-making. She has produced exceptional photography work on a range of subjects from stray dogs in Mexico to domestic life. She creates works that draw out the drama inherent in the mundane, frequently finding and depicting deep meaning in unoccupied rooms, simple portraits, and pets, among other subjects. She frequently photographs her husband, fellow artist Paul Resika, as he works with models.
