Naya Bricher and Derek Macara: The 2026 PAAM Honorees

PAAM is thrilled to honor artists Naya Bricher and Derek Macara at the annual PAAM Party on Saturday, October 3, 2026!

Naya Bricher’s vibrant, saturated paintings explore the emotional and visual power of color, form, and whimsy. Working in Provincetown, her practice draws from the Outer Cape’s magical light and energy, inviting viewers into moments of effervescent delight, playfulness, and discovery.

Naya studied at Smith College, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa with highest honors in Studio Art. She has had residencies at The Vermont Studio Center and The Peaked Hill Trust Dune Shacks. She maintains a studio at The Fine Arts Work Center, where she serves as their Administrative Director, and she is represented by Four Eleven Gallery.

Raised in Provincetown, Derek Macara’s work is rooted in sustained observation of Cape Cod’s coastline. As a child, he spent several years studying at the Hawthorne School of Art which was located at the former residence of early 20th century portrait artist, Charles W. Hawthorne.

Through luminous oceanscapes, he explores the interplay of light, water, and atmosphere, carrying forward the enduring artistic tradition of the place that shaped him.
