Now Hiring: Teaching Artist – Early Childhood Education

The Provincetown Art Association and Museum is looking for a Lead Teaching Artist for our Fall Little Artists Program.

Teaching Artist will work collaboratively with PAAM Education Staff to plan and facilitate age appropriate educational material for young artists ages 5 – 8 years old.

PAAM’s Little Artists Program offers a creative, engaging space for early learners to dig into the sensory experience of art-making. A wide variety of media and projects are explored through process-oriented learning designed for experimentation and creative development.

Our Fall session will run once a week for 6 weeks, October through December from 3pm to 4:30pm. Exact Schedule to be determined.

Who are we looking for?

Passionate member of the community interested in bettering the lives of young people while fostering creativity, exploration, and process based artmaking.

Foundational and diverse knowledge of art methods and instruction for ages five and younger.

Ability to implement a developmentally appropriate art curriculum designed to promote the social, creative, and intellectual growth of children while supporting the needs of the individual and classroom environment.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated teaching experience.
  • Excellent communication, professionalism, customer service, and problem-solving skills,
    including the ability to maintain composure under stress.
  • Strong organization skills, able to multi-task, and ability to collaborate with others.
  • Ability to work with students of all ages and skill levels and create an accessible classroom environment.
  • Pass required background checks.
