Portrait of an Art Colony

In the summer of 2016, PAAM exhibited a group of portraits by Raymond Elman and Norma Holt, curated by Ethan Cohen and Jane Paradise.

In the accompanying catalog, Cohen wrote, “For decades Elman and Holt recorded the intellectual and cultural life of our unique art colony at the tip of Cape Cod by making portraits of the creative talent that embraces the special nature of this seaside community.”

During the run of the exhibition (from June 17 to August 7), Elman recorded video remembrances/reflections of people in the portraits by people with close connections to those portrayed. All videos copyrighted by Raymond Elman.
