In this painting workshop we will break down the landscape and figure into simple forms, and learn how to use color to enhance their description and interplay.

Working both in plein air and from a live model, each workshop day will include a thorough demonstration, followed by plenty of time to practice painting with close instruction. All levels welcome.


ABOUT THE TEACHING ARTIST

John Clayton’s formal art training was with the Art Students League and the National Academy in New York. During the summers he was greatly influenced and studied painting at the Cape Cod School of Art in Provincetown. Along with numerous juried shows John is currently exhibiting his art at the Arthur Egeli Gallery. Clayton shows at the Gingerbread Square Gallery in Key West. Clayton has been teaching painting for twenty years at PAAM, The Creative Art Center of Chatham, The Falmouth Art Guild, and Castle Hill Truro Center for the Arts. For the past 5 years John has hosted Art in the Barn with PAAM at the Hawthorne Barn.
