The Members’ 12×12 Exhibition and Silent Auction


Every summer, PAAM members sell their artwork in The Members’ 12×12 Exhibition and Silent Auction, one of our biggest fundraisers that just so happens to be great for artists.

Bidding starts at $125 for all pieces, and climbs by demand until the final seconds of the online silent auction. Sales are split 50/50 between the artist and PAAM, and some artists even elect to donate their commission back to us. Bidders know that they’re supporting not only living, working artists, but also the anchor of the Provincetown art colony.

The Members’ 12×12 Exhibition and Silent Auction is PAAM’s largest annual membership drive. To submit work, membership must be valid through the duration of the exhibition.



This is an open exhibition for PAAM members, meaning all work that fits the requirements is included. Membership must be valid through the duration of the exhibition (September, 2022), anyone can join or renew at any time–learn more about Membership here.

Artwork must be 12×12″. For this exhibition, we prefer to mount work to the wall using L-shaped pins, so we prefer work that is unframed. Framed work is gladly accepted, but bear in mind that the frame must be 12×12″. We provide Masonite panels free of charge, available at the Front Desk when the Museum is open. Please make sure work is dry by the time you drop it off.


Drop-Off Day is Tuesday, July 26 from 12-4pm. Early drop-offs are accepted at the Front Desk during the month of July when the Museum is open. You may either fill out an Artwork Receipt upon dropping off, or fill one out outline in advance.


You are welcome to ship your piece to us. Please submit the Artwork Receipt below and be sure to clearly mark or attach your name to your piece so that we can reconcile the two. Shipped works must arrive by Tuesday, July 26.


All work in this exhibition is for sale through an online silent auction, with a starting price of $125. Anyone can place bids. The commission from the sale is shared 50/50 between PAAM and the artist. Some members choose to be “100% To PAAM Artists,” which means they donate their 50% commission back to PAAM. These artists receive special placement in the exhibition, promotion on social media, and a donation receipt for 50% of the sale price.

    By checking this box, you are indicating that ALL proceeds from the sale of your piece go to PAAM. If you do NOT check the box, PAAM receives a 50% commission on the sale of your piece (this is not considered a donation). If you elect to be a 100% to PAAM Artist, you will receive an acknowledgement letter for your taxes, special placement on the exhibition wall, and a special section on the bidding website.

    • One work per artist may be submitted per exhibition. • All exhibited artwork is covered by the Museum’s Exhibition Insurance Policy. PAAM is not responsible for loss or damage to work left beyond the pickup date. • Unsold works are the artist’s responsibility to retrieve or arrange to be shipped. • Work left beyond 90 days of the pickup date becomes property of PAAM. • No work may be withdrawn from the exhibition prior to the closing date. • Artist payments are sent within 30 business days, or 6 weeks.
