Annual Consignment Auction

Held annually in September, The Annual Consignment Auction of early Provincetown art is one of PAAM’s most significant fundraisers, supporting our year-round educational offerings, exhibitions, and other cultural programming.

The Auction is conducted online at LiveAuctioneers.com, and is previewed in an exhibition at PAAM. Purchasing a piece of artwork from this auction makes an extraordinary difference in PAAM’s ability to maintain its operations. Consignors to the auction receive 80% of the “hammer price” for lots sold, and PAAM receives 20% or a minimum of $50. It is in the best interest of PAAM and the consignor to sell high, so every effort is made to ensure the best possible price at auction for every consignment.

Bidding is open for the weeks leading up to the auction, during which time you can leave single bids on any given lot, or use the auto bidding feature to set your maximum price for a lot, and the site will automatically bid in the given increments for you up to your max. Lots close in numeric order , submitting bids will reset the timer of that lot closing. Once no further bids are submitted on a lot, it will sell to the highest bidder. This will happen quickly, so be ready!

Do you have artwork by a deceased Provincetown artist that you wish to consign to the 2023 Auction? Please contact Registrar Madeleine Larson (mlarson@paam.org)
